The Vezér Family

Vezér Family Vineyard is a private Suisun Valley Estate, which is owned by Frank and Liz Vezér. Their winery is best know for their Petite Sirah and their Zinfandel, which are rated among the best in the region, and are used in well-known wines, such as Sin Zin and Ravenswood. The Suisun Valley has the perfect soil and micro-climate which enables these vines to develop the choicest grapes.

For growing Petite Sirah, the Suisun Valley Appellation is rated as the oldest and best in the State of California by the U.C Davis University. In 2001, the Vezér’s decided to establish their own wines and produced their first vintage of Zinfandel in the year 2003. Since then they have produced eight additional vintages. The Vezér wines are winning their vineyard accolades and awards from across the country as well with international panels. The Vezér family practices the 1938 approach to their wine making, which was born with Frank Vezér’s father, Frank Vezér II. This method consists of balancing opposing elements to create wines that are dynamic, complex, and embody the classical ideals that define the world’s finest wines. With such a good backbone, it is no wonder they are such a success.

Founder’s Vision

The Vezér name, pronounced in Hungarian as (Vv-ez-air) and commonly know in America as (V-zir), has a prominent Hungarian heritage.  In the Hungarian language the Vezér name means “Leader” which the Vezér family has taken seriously. In the mining industry, Frank Vezér III is an established name and is known in the industry as being on the leading edge of technology and precision.  Frank Vezér is just as determined to make his wines known as being on the leading edge of taste and sophistication.

Who We Are

You can get to know the Vezér family by reading the labels on the back the of their wines and their tasting notes. Each label and tasting note is written by them to reflect their true feelings and passion about their wines. Every aspect of making Vezér wines is a family affair, from the growing of the grapes to the processing and bottling. Both Frank and Liz along with their family and close friends, such as the Mizirawis, put much time and energy into making their wines

Vezér Wine is really a collaboration of two families who work and play together. The brotherhood of the Vezér family and the Mizirawi family is one in faith and in love. The two families together work hard to make sure that each and every bottle of Vezér wine is one that they can be proud of.
